Cancer Awareness Month

Every October,
the world turns pink.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is the single biggest moment of the year for breast cancer visibility, fundraising, and frank conversation — across 96 countries, on four continents, in every workplace and every family.

Why October matters

More than a ribbon.
A moment of focus.

Awareness is not a slogan. It is the precondition for everything else: the early conversation, the first appointment, the family history question nobody wanted to ask, the fundraising decision that unlocks a year of research.

In October, the attention is there. We spend the rest of the year earning it. Our job is to make sure the attention leads somewhere real — to science, not spectacle.

PinkRibbon International funds scientific research and supports prevention programs. We do NOT provide screening, treatment, or clinical services.

1 in 8
women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Awareness month is how we move from statistic to story.
Take part

Four ways to turn this October pink.

Pick one. They all move the science forward.

Wear pink

Pin a ribbon, wear a pink shirt, turn your team's Slack theme pink for the month. Small visual signals start conversations that save lives.

Share your story

Tell us — or post publicly — why this mission matters to you. Stories are how we move from "1 in 8" to real women with real names. See Get Involved for how to contribute.

Fundraise

Host a bake sale, a run, a workplace match, a family breakfast. Every October we see ordinary people run extraordinary campaigns — and 85% of every dollar lands in a research grant.

Donate

If you only do one thing this October, donate. One donation = one verified grant, one named researcher, one step closer to the science that ends this disease. Donate now →
